EDI Networks

The University has a wide range of networks open for both staff and students to join.

Diversity is what you see; inclusion is what you feel

Our staff networks are all about change and representing difference. They exist because there is a desire to see a difference within the workplace. At the University of Sunderland, we strongly support our staff networks and these communities, and embrace different perspectives so we can realise benefits for staff and students.

Our staff networks are mini communities. They are a powerful collective voice that highlights what those perceived issues are and that, for a many reasons, not all employees have access to a level playing field.

Our staff networks act as an effective channel between their members and the wider university and help make great strides in levelling the playing field. Each network has an executive sponsor who attends twice a year to hear the issues that are important to those groups.
