Accreditations Manager

I joined the University of Sunderland as the Faculty of Business, Law and Tourism's first-ever Accreditations Manager in 2022. My role centres around three different strands:

  • Ensure compliance with current professional body accreditations and memberships, including AACSB, CIPD, CMI (where I am the named Programme Director for the University), EFMD, and UN PRME.
  • Develop the relationship with and integration of current professional body accreditations and memberships.
  • Work with colleagues, both academic and professional services, to successfully gain new professional body accreditations and memberships for the Faculty.

I worked closely with Dr Derek Watson at the forefront of Sunderland Business School's successful Small Business Charter application in 2022/23 and led the Faculty's submission of our latest UN PRME Sharing Information on Progress (SIP) Report, which was published in December 2023. There are further exciting plans for the accreditations agenda in 2024 and beyond.

In 2023, I was invited to join the University's Strategic Environmental Sustainability Group (SESG), helping to advance the sustainability agenda at the University.

I graduated from Northumbria University in 2017 with a First Class Honours degree in BA (Hons) Business Leadership and Corporate Management. Prior to joining the University of Sunderland, I was a Regulatory Compliance Officer for four years at an SME large format point-of-sale printing firm, where I ensured the company's continued compliance with several quality, environmental and social-related accreditations and certifications including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSC, PEFC and Investors In People.

Teaching and supervision

In December 2023, I was invited to guest lecture a session about Ethics and Sustainability as part of postgraduate module MGTM06 – Developing Human Resources and Professional Practice. My session focused on UN PRME, the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, and how HR professionals can specifically incorporate ethics and sustainability into their respective areas of work.
