Senior Lecturer in Photography
I am a Senior Lecturer in Photography at the Northern Centre of Photography and the Deputy Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Photography, Video and Digital Imaging.
I'm also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
As an established, UK based artist/photographer, I'm primarily concerned with contested spaces and/or the language of division. Within my diverse practice I work with a wide-range of media including: photography, text, moving-image and sourced, online material.

Teaching and supervision
Research
My practice and research interests are varied and have been predominantly concerned with contemporary representations of conflict and the military. Employing a range of visual strategies, my key agenda as image-maker is to offer an alternative understanding of conflict that seeks to question established conventions.
In recent years I've been developing research into diverse, yet connected, subject areas, including: the commodification of modern warfare; contested spaces (both physical and virtual); as well as exploring the caustic language of division that permeates in contemporary culture.
