I am the Faculty Academic Support Lead (FASL) for the Faculty of Technology, which includes the School of Computer Science and the School of Engineering. Major responsibilities of my role include leading high-quality curriculum support initiatives that enhance student engagement, retention and progression, while coordinating the activities of personal academic tutors within the faculty.

I have been at the University since 2014 and have held several roles, including senior lecturer and programme leader. My areas of teaching specialism include electrical and electronic engineering, engineering applications of Information Technology and mathematics for engineers. Programme leadership responsibilities have included The Engineering Integrated Foundation Year (IFY) and the former Extended Engineering Programme. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET).

I have previously worked in a number of other industrial sectors, including mechanical engineering and network/IT management. Related to the latter, I have a master's in Information Technology Management and I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).

I have published several books, technical reports, magazine articles and web-based resources covering microprocessor-based systems, computer-aided design (CAD), office software applications, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and extensible markup language (XML).
