Senior Lecturer International Initial Teacher Training, Programme Leader PGCE iQTS Secondary Education

My background is in UK secondary education (ages 11–18). I initially re-trained as an English teacher after I left the British Army. I have held senior management positions in schools and have had the opportunity to teach both in the UK and internationally in multiple countries.

I have been responsible for multiple courses during my time at the University. I have previously been the Programme Leader for Secondary English trainees, and the PGCE Education (DL) and I am currently Programme Leader for PGCE iQTS Secondary Education.

I lead on several modules for the PGCE iQTS Secondary Education, including MA level IQSM02 Subject Research Study in International Secondary Education and IQS301 Professional Practice in International Secondary Education.

I am also the Subject Specialist Lead for all PGCE iQTS Secondary cohorts. I am also an assessor for the Assessment Only Route to QTS (AOR) and a supervisor for undergraduate dissertation and MA thesis supervision.
