Check out our events pages to see the exciting opportunities available for sixth form and college pupils. They're designed to give a flavour of what it's like to study at university and showcase some of our fantastic facilities, as well as giving them an insight into where university can take them.
We know that time is valuable for students in Years 12 and 13 so we have developed a series of talks and workshops to fill 30 minutes to an hour in a range of topics.
This on-campus experience is designed to give sixth form and college pupils the opportunity to 'Get Into' their subject area and university life at Sunderland. Each event can be tailored to you and your pupils' needs and include hands-on subject sessions, campus tours, career advice and student life activities.
Individual tours are a great opportunity to take a look around our University campus, see the facilities we have to offer and find out if Sunderland is the place for you, With the option to meet a member of our academic staff, you can also find out more about your chosen course and ask any questions you may have about studying with us. Visits are delivered by our current Student Ambassadors and members of staff in our Home Recruitment Service who are experts in providing tours of our campuses, including the libraries, social spaces, teaching areas and facilities available for your chosen course.
Our First Choice Progression Scheme aims to equip students with the key skills required to be successful at university and support them in their journey towards Higher Education
We host a variety of events for teachers during the academic year, some of which are specific to our faculties and some of which will be more generic and cover a range of subjects. We recently held a conference for Head Teachers and Heads of Sixth Form, which you can see more about in the video. Make sure to keep checking this page for more information on our events for teachers.
