First Choice

The University of Sunderland has a proud history of breaking down perceived barriers to higher education and providing the required support to help pupils with their university transition.

We're extremely excited to announce the launch of our First Choice Progression scheme for 2017/18, which aims to equip pupils with the key skills required to be successful at University and support them in their journey towards higher education. Working with selected schools in the pilot phase, we will work closely with local pupils to help build on vital transferable skills and lay the foundations for a successful university experience.
