The Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert) Medical Education is designed to bridge the gap between theory, evidence, and practice, with a strong emphasis on the practicalities of medical education. The degree is ideal for all staff who educate healthcare professionals or medical students and are looking to develop their career.

You’ll build on your skills and knowledge as a teaching professional, gaining a greater understanding of the delivery of medical training across all levels to ensure a high-quality, student-centred approach. You’ll learn from experienced academics and clinicians, plus a range of guest speakers and external contributors with specialist expertise in the field of medical education.

Upon successful completion of the course, you may seek employment within Higher Education institutions, or clinical teaching roles in the public or private sector. Most students who study this course will be qualified healthcare professionals, and you may wish to progress further by pursuing a full master’s degree in medical education.
