The training provided on the course was world class and the support from my mentors and the entire PGCE team was exceptional. The University and its partner schools have transformed me as a professional, and after graduating, I was offered a job as a physics teacher.

First-class facilities

When you study with us, you'll learn in modern spaces designed to help you succeed. We've invested millions of pounds in our facilities, and we'll continue to invest in both of our campuses.

Your course gives you access to specialist facilities that help you learn by doing. We're a very practical university, focused on teaching you real skills for your future career. You can learn through hands-on activities such as lab work, simulations, and industry-style environments.

These include spaces like the mediaHUB, the Student Law Clinic, an esports lab, simulation ambulance, mock hospital wards, simulation rooms and much more.

When you study with us, you do more than earn a degree. You'll build skills that help you get a job and succeed in your career. Our courses are designed with your future in mind, and we offer lots of extra support like writing a strong CV and preparing for interviews to enhance your employability.

You can get expert help from our Graduate Prospects team, who work closely with local employers to help you find jobs, volunteering, and other great opportunities, whether you want to work while you study or find your first job after you graduate.

You may also choose to undertake a placement as part of your course, which gives you the chance to work in a real professional setting, build confidence, make useful contacts, and gain valuable experience.

Sunderland is a great place to study, and the staff are very supportive. I’ve secured a job at one of the "Big Four" consulting firms in the world, and I did so with guidance from the Employability and Enterprise Hub, my mentorship, and SuPA experience.
