Choosing classes

The University of Sunderland offers a broad range of subjects through the Study Abroad Programme. You can mix and match modules to satisfy your home institutions requirements. Classes at the University of Sunderland are called modules. You are required by University Policy to take 60 credits per semester or 120 credits per academic year. (Please see the equivalencies below)

Finding Modules

Step 1- You should use the Module Guide 2015/16 which is the most up to date guide of modules available*. You should choose as many options as possible, but you will only be enrolled on 60 credits per semester that you are here.

*modules are subject to change

Step 2- After you have found modules available, use our online module catalogue for full module descriptions. You must read the information given here and in the guide to understand how modules, semesters and credits work here at Sunderland. THIS MODULE GUIDE IS NOT TO BE USED TO CHOOSE CLASSES- SOME OF THESE MODULES NO LONGER RUN.

Step 3- You will be contacted by an academic advisor who will confirm your module choices with you or discuss any changes that need to be made.Once you arrive at Sunderland, you will enrol into these classes.

Note: Only the modules listed in the Module Guide are available to Study Abroad and Exchange students.  If a subject area is not in the guide, it is highly unlikely it is available. Please ask the study abroad team. If you are an Erasmus student, you must only choose modules in the area listed on the Erasmus institutional agreement. You will not be allowed to enrol on any other subject area.
