Research Ethics

It is the policy of the University of Sunderland that all of our research must be conducted in accordance with the University's Research Ethics Principles, Professional Codes of Practice and the law. All University research must be reviewed by the Research Ethics Group (REG) unless it can be 'Self Certified' by the Principal Investigator.

In accordance with our policy on research involving human participants and personal data, the University requires that all such research be subject to appropriate ethical review. The University Research Ethics Group (UREG) has overall responsibility for the development of this policy and for the University’s ethical review process.
