Jonathon Swales

Sunderland, UK

BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing Practice

Working in a call centre helped Jonathon Swales realise he wanted to do a job where he would help people face to face. Jonathan decided that BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing Practice course at the University of Sunderland was the right fit for him.

I choose the University of Sunderland because there is a very high standard of education and the facilities are also very good. At the University you also have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities such as Tennis and Dodgeball.

One of the main reasons I chose Sunderland is that you have the opportunity to practice your clinical skills with PCPI’s (Patient, Public and Carer Involvement and Experience). They have suffered previously from mental illnesses and offer their time to come into the University and assist students with their studies.

I would recommend the University because the lecturers are very knowledgeable about the course they are teaching and they are very helpful if you have any problems. Also, the facilities are very good too so it is the perfect learning environment."
