Welcome to Nursing and Midwifery
A degree in Nursing or Midwifery is ideal if you have a genuine interest in a caring profession and improving the lives of patients, and we offer a range of specialist Nursing and Midwifery courses including:
- BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing Practice
- BSc (Hons) Midwifery Practice
- BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing Practice
- BSc (Hons) Children’s and Young People’s Nursing Practice
- BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing (Blended)
We also provide postgraduate degrees to further your existing knowledge, which include the MSc Nursing course, or, for those who wish to convert from a healthcare related degree to become a registered nurse, the accelerated MNurse course.

How we teach
The integration of theory and practice is at the centre of our Nursing and Midwifery courses.
Learning is underpinned by evidence-based practice promoting high quality, compassionate and patient-centred health care provision. You will be supported to relate nursing theory to clinical practice, demonstrating your competence in clinical nursing.
We have a range of facilities on campus to aid your learning, as well as regularly running simulations to give you a taste of what real nursing and midwifery practice will be like.

We also provide regular opportunities to collaborate in an interprofessional learning capacity with other healthcare courses such as pharmacy, paramedic science, medicine, biomedical science, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and more.
