Jozo Jozipovic

Croatia

MA Media Production (Film and Television)

Taking on the role of a production assistant and manager of a short film Into the Blue that had a world premiere at the 2017 Berlin Film Festival and working as a casting assistant for season 4 and 5 of Game of Thrones helped Jozo Jozipovic realise that production is the artistic realm that he would like to pursue. For Jozo, the University with its own unique course was a perfect fit for his needs and now after graduating, he found a job as a Video Producer in Manchester.

I have chosen the University of Sunderland because of the actual course. When I started a long search for the perfect place to study, the University's website made me feel like I am already their student. I loved how tutors and module leaders have made Media course so intense but also really enjoyable.

I have chosen this particular course because every aspect of it was just perfect for my growth in a personal and professional environment. I have finished a BA in TV Journalism and New Media in Zagreb, Croatia and decided to continue my education in the UK. With its own unique culture, various and multiple professional opportunities, England was a perfect choice to continue my educational path.

I spent such a terrific year at the University and made so many friends for life. I felt like I was at home. Every lesson was carefully planned to the smallest details, creating such a great environment for students to grow and fulfil their potential.

Give 110% of yourself during your studies, you won’t believe how much you will learn and how much you will actually progress. Looking back at my days at the University, I am still mesmerized how much I upskilled my knowledge on Media and how much it made me a better asset to any film crew.

After graduating, I have found a perfect full-time job as a Video Producer in the education sector in Manchester. I also do freelance, and skills that I learned at the University are proving to be helpful on a daily basis.

It was a challenging, creative and fulfilling year that made me realise - I love what I do."
