Principal Lecturer, Associate Head of School, Journalism and Communications

I worked as a journalist and editor for magazines and national newspapers for 25 years, including roles as Deputy Editor of Grazia and Head of Features at the Daily Mirror.

I am also a member of the media law examinations board for the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ). I hold a PGCert in Teaching of Higher Education and am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.



Teaching and supervision

I lead the journalism and communications team of academics who deliver the undergraduate and postgraduate courses in journalism, sports journalism, fashion journalism, social media management, public relations and English: creative and professional writing. I also teach fashion journalism modules on BA (Hons) Fashion Journalism as well as media law, regulation, and court reporting to all undergraduate and postgraduate journalism students.
