The opportunity to study at a diverse and ambitious university was one not to be missed. The intimate and tight nature of the law school catered for fantastic first impressions. Indeed, my passion in academia centres on Human Rights Law – Sunderland are one of the few universities to offer an LLM on the subject.

For me, the best aspects of the course are the quality of teaching and the tireless support given by a dedicated, intimate team who are all about student experience and academic development.

Since graduating with a distinction in December 2016, I have been working as an Associate Tutor in the Law School, teaching on a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate modules including Child Law, Public Law, International Human Rights and International Trade and Commercial Law.

Alongside this, in October 2017 I took up a Higher Education Transitions Officer post at Sunderland College, aimed at improving the proportion of disadvantaged young people who go on to study in Higher Education. I use all of the experience I have gained as a student and tutor at the University of Sunderland to guide and support students the best I can.”
