Industry links

Our direct links to the industry of business and management help inform our teaching and ensure that you're getting relevant and cutting-edge course content as part of your studies.

Professional accreditations

We've worked hard in the School of Business and Management to ensure that where relevant, our courses are industry accredited.

This means that you'll be studying a course that has links to a professional body, and in some cases, can provide exemptions from exams, or access to specialist materials that aren't available to non-professional body members. Professional bodies that we're linked to include CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing), CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel Development), and CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants).

Industry placements

We strongly encourage you to, where possible, undertake a placement as part of your studies. In the Faculty of Business, Law and Tourism, we have a dedicated placements team who support you through every step of the process, including offering interview and application guidance.

The time spent out in industry is often invaluable and helps strengthen your CV, and in some cases, even leads to a role being offered beyond the placement term.

Project ChangeMaker

Project ChangeMaker is an exciting opportunity we provide for you to undertake a six-week virtual placement within a local business.

We provide additional resources as part of Project ChangeMaker, with the first phase involving a series of guest lectures and reflections. You'll be tasked with solving a specific organisational challenge set by the business, and by the end of the six weeks, you'll make recommendations based on your experience working within the business.
