BA (Hons) Business and Marketing Management

MA Marketing (Professional Practice)

Ahmed chose to come to the University of Sunderland from his home country of Egypt. Starting at foundation year level and progressing through to studying for his masters, this was a decision that has proved to be life-changing and insightful.

Before going to university, I was living and going to school in my home country of Egypt. I decided that I wanted to go to university to improve professionally and personally, and to increase my chances of having a career in marketing and content creation.

I chose to come to the University of Sunderland because of the city, it has a calming environment. I’ve found that the University staff have been very supportive, so during my foundation year this made me feel like I wanted to continue and do my bachelor's degree. The lecturers are very supportive, and they are always trying to do their best to make modules interesting. Even during when we had to attend university online, they worked hard to provide us with the best experience possible.

I completed my undergraduate degree and went on to study the MA Marketing (Professional Practice) course. As part of the professional practice element of this course, I undertook a work placement.

My advice to prospective students would be to go for it. It is a decision that will change your life, you will make friends for life, and you will meet people from all around the world. The university has a lot of sports clubs so if you are interested in any sports, you will most likely find it here and the sports office will do their best to make sure that the sport you’re playing is interesting."
