How to apply for Clearing

Call us on 0191 515 3000 or complete our online Clearing self-apply form.

We’re here to listen and advise you on your unique journey through Clearing, to give you confidence and belief when you need it most. Sign up for support and you’ll be matched with a dedicated member of staff, who’ll be your main point of contact over the coming weeks. They’ll be on hand to offer you tailored one-to-one support, guidance and information throughout the Clearing process.

You can apply through Clearing if:

  • You haven’t applied for university yet, but want to start a course in September
  • You haven’t previously considered studying with us, but want to join us in September
  • You’ve applied for university but not met the conditions of your firm or insurance choice (i.e. you aren’t holding any offers for a place at a university or college)
  • You’ve changed your mind about the offer you’re holding at another university or college and want to study with us instead
  • You’ve changed your mind about the offer you’re holding with us and want to study a different course

Key dates

14 August: A Level and BTEC results day 

21 August: GCSE results day

20 October: Final date to add 2025 entry Clearing choices

Open Days and Clearing events

Join us on campus at one of our upcoming Open Days: 

Saturday 16 August, 10am – 2pm

This is a split site event with activities running at both our campuses. You’ll need to book your place at the campus where your chosen course is based.

  • Thursday 14 August: If you want to look around campus or speak to someone in person about your application, we’ll offer drop-in sessions (10am - 2pm) where our team will be on hand to support you and answer any questions you may have.
  • Saturday 16 August: Undergraduate Open Day, 10am – 2pm
  • Saturday 27 September: Undergraduate Open Day, 10am – 2pm
  • Wednesday 12 November: Undergraduate Open Evenings (times TBC)
