Overview
The critical appraisal and evaluation of the importance of clinical decision making and escalation strategies in the deteriorating cardiac patient will be covered with direct application to the NHS policies which underpin evidence-based practice. In addition, you'll develop the ability to formulate a systematic understanding of cardiovascular disease and the risk stratification of primary prevention in cardiac patients. Applying enhanced knowledge of health promotion and patients, carers and families with a cardiac condition will be integral to allow the critical examination and evaluation of a typical and atypical presentation of a cardiac patient.
The course will be delivered over a 6-month period with 2 sessions per month. All sessions will be full days. You'll be included in a mixture of classroom based, online and independent study. The module will include a range of different teaching strategies and there will be opportunity for critical discussion with peers, independent working, and guided study to allow depth of knowledge to be developed.
